ENERGY MANAGEMENT: WHY ADOPT IT?

Installing energy saving solutions on your building is good, analyzing the results to make them even more efficient is better!

Having full control over the various energy consumption items (electrical, thermal, water) of your company therefore becomes essential in order to increase your savings. This is where energy management comes into play.

A true cornerstone of energy performance, energy management is a global approach whose objective is to continuously improve a building's energy efficiency.

As you will have understood, without it it is not possible to make savings in the long term since it represents a real opportunity to detect areas for improvement and thus coordinate actions to achieve them.

But what are the steps? What are the concrete advantages of implementing it? Takagreen tells you all about this more than essential solution for energy performance!

The steps

  • 1st step: The inventory

Making a diagnosis technical (installations, consumption, significant uses, improvements) and organizational (instructions, level of awareness, responsibilities) of the company in order to determine its energy situation (potential energy savings, means that can be mobilized and to be developed to exploit them)

  • 2nd step: The action plan

The action plan centralizes and prioritizes the energy saving actions to be carried out by each customer. The objectives, actions and gains are clarified and the stakeholders are mobilized in the short and long term in a process of sustainable improvement.

  • Step 3: Implementation

Implementation: of a metering plan (measurements, collection and analysis), savings shares (organization, deposit, investment) and regular monitoring (reports, internal audits, updates).

What are the imperatives for successful energy management?

To work, an energy management system must be adapted to the rules and practices specific to each company. This is why the 1st step, called “Inventory of fixtures”, is essential.

ISO 50 001: The energy management standard

With or without certification, you have the choice: the energy management system is a voluntary process that can lead to ISO 50 certification, but without obligation.

Certification constitutes recognition of the management approach carried out internally and therefore gives access to several advantages:

  • Exemption from the energy audit obligation for ISO 50 certified sites
  • Bonus of Energy Savings Certificates

The benefits of energy management

  • Reduce your energy bill
  • Be in good standing with the law
  • Participate in the ecological & energy transition
  • Preserve occupant comfort & production level
