30 January POWER OF MOSS: THE POWER OF MOSS TO VEGETATE OUR DAILY LIFE
In urban and ultra-concrete environments, we are increasingly confronted with the global warming, to the air pollution and their harmful consequences on our health and the environment.
So we need to rethink our spaces by introducing more nature, with the aim of creating islands of freshness. One of the proven solutions is the revegetation walls and roofs of buildings, which lowers the temperature and preserves air quality by absorbing pollutant emissions.
It is to respond to these issues that Powerofmoss was born with the mission of giving back nature in the heart of the city. This startup designs nature-inspired solutions that contribute to purify indoor air and revegetate cities.
For this she uses the superpowers of a plant: natural moss. VSit has many benefits: power of hibernation which allows it to withstand long periods of drought and a strong storage power carbon and certain pollutants. These absorption properties are due to the fact that it is a super dense plant : 1m2 of moss is equivalent to the action of 8 trees of adult size! The company has developed two types of innovative solutions using the extraordinary properties of moss: interior plant layout and green roofs.
What is the benefit of planting?
The company offers foam frames eco-designed which, once installed in interior spaces, allow purify the air, to bring serenity and well-being occupants thanks to its soundproofing properties.
The purifying power is provided by the plant which has a strong ability to absorb volatile organic compounds (VOC) - The foam will filter pollutants and release oxygen and moisture in the room. This allows to freshen the air with living spaces et to use less energy than air conditioning.
Why install green roofs?
Eco-designed green roofs make it possible to protect roofs with moss. This layer will act as a thermal insulator which allows to obtain temperate temperatures inside buildings. Foam also has the properties of protecting roofs from UV rays and temperature changes and limit the noise.
Roof greening can be done on surfaces ranging from 5 to 5000M2. These roofs are light which facilitates their installation (- 20kg/m2), durable and maintenance-free. These different solutions are carried out by favoring eco-responsible materials, for the natural moss et a local assembly in France.

1- Can you present Power of Moss?
Power of Moss offers layout and roofing solutions designed from vegetable moss to allow companies to green their workspaces.
Indeed, vegetable moss has remarkable powers: light, resistant, purifies the air...it is ideal for greening roofs.

3- How did the adventure begin?
During an evening Arthur Lejeune and myself, who are two long-time friends who love nature, the countryside and the forest, had the idea of creating Power Of Moss.
We realized that the buildings around us are all artificial, energy-intensive, and that urban spaces are not always very pleasant: pollution, concrete...Following this observation, we concluded that we had to put nature back into our spaces.
Our idea was to use the power of plants to respond to these issues of space and air quality.
Here we are now two years later, with 1 incubator, our own premises, a team of 16 employees, more than 250 projects carried out and nearly 4000 m2 of green spaces.
4- Do you have development prospects for Power of Moss?
Yes. First of all, we want to support more industries, and deploy our solutions on larger-scale projects. We also plan to develop new products such as a range of furniture, a solution to revitalize floors or a natural anti-fungal product.
In addition, we aim to achieve 100 m000 of vegetation per year, but also to support nearly 2 companies per year in their green development project.
5- Through what actions does your Power of Moss company engage in a sustainable development approach on a daily basis?
We respond to climate challenges through our sustainable solution. In addition, we try to keep this consistency with all of our daily actions.
We promote carpooling and cycling, we organize 100% vegetarian events, and have set up a water fountain and drinking bottles to avoid the use of disposable cups.
6- What objectives do you want to achieve with the Takagreen platform?
Our specialized company has a large team of engineers. There is a lot of work to design our products. We focus a little less on marketing. Nevertheless, our company is highly welcomed by our customers and has a 5-star rating on Google. This is why we find the idea of being referenced on the Takagreen platform very relevant.
